I originally wrote this book off because it looked forgettable. Booksparse circumstances led me to read it anyway, and I found it exceptional and true. The work is not so much the story of a girl whose boyfriend becomes paraplegic, but an examination of home, of woman's troubled relationship with familiarity, of the way our comittments shape us. Someone butchered the synopsis on the back; just ignore it. Unexpectedly wonderful.
