loved it. The city, the people the "mystery" was a minor player but it all added up to a good read

I might be the only person in the world who has read the book but has never watched the movie. How culturally backward is that? Never mind–the book is great. I loved it. Maybe it tries too hard to be hip, but that doesn’t hinder the story. There’s every element of high adventure: fencing, torture, poison, love, hate, revenge, giants, bad men, good men, a beautiful lady, chases, lies, truth . . . there’s supposed to be passion, too, but I missed it. Not to worry–everything else is there. You won't be disappointed.
