I don't usually care too much for books written from the point of view of modern people. I would rather go far in the past or just as drastically far in the future. But I got something from this book. I can't nail it down, but I got something. I read book this at a point where I was just so exhausted, so over worked, that when I began to read this, it almost scared me how similar my thoughts were to the protagonists. It was a chance of reflection for me, and a curious look into the psyche that I loved. However, I will never need to wonder what a teenage boy is thinking, and I will never need to ask. Oy. And the extent of teenage partying didn't surprise me, I just don't need it in such detail.
