Enjoyable read from the perspective of a German family during World War II. The idea of story was woven throughout with some very beautiful phrasing.

I didn't read it...I listened to it on my iPod. Maybe it was the narrator's hilarious voices and accents but I thought it was pretty entertaining. I feel about it the way I feel about the movie Crash. It isn't anything new but it might work as a good primer for people who need to know about these controversial issues.
