Not exactly a high adventure James Bond novel. This is one of more quiet pacing. Bond is walking into a trap, he *knows* that he is walking into a trap, and we are just waiting for the trap to spring to see how he reacts. Our hero doesn't even show up for the first 100 pages. When he does, he listens to anything that a girl in a short skirt says, totally ignoring other advice. If this is the literary Bond, it's amazing that he's survived so long.
