I thought this book was really interesting. I hadn't realized that there were other books that came before, but I don't think it detracted from my reading of it that much. The characters, with their varying interpretations of humanity, interacted in what I found to be believable ways.

I am having a hard time reviewing this book, because I have mixed feelings about it. At first I found it slow, and somewhat boring. But toward the end, I enjoyed it much more. At times I felt there wasn't enough story set at Pog Hill to really give the reader the 'magic' that Jay felt from his summers there. He spoke and felt so strongly about Pog Hill, I wanted more from there. Overall, it was decent. Don't go out and buy it, but if you want to borrow it from me, you're welcome to. =)
