I didn't enjoy this book as much as I expected. I had high expectations.

I've always had a love hate relationship with classic novels as I feel this great need to read them because I know they are so great, but because of my lack of concentration it often takes me ages to finish or I lose interest, but this was one of those ones, like Bronte's Jane Eyre, that I found it a pleasure to read and I look forward to reading even more Austen in the near future!

This book had a Jodi Picoult-ness to it that I never really noticed in Kristin Hannah's other books. With that being said, I really enjoyed the book and couldn't put it down and ended up reading it in less then a day. Normally I don't really write about the characters in the book or what impacts they had on me but with this one, I just feel I need to get it out that I could not stand Jude. She annoyed me beyond belief. Maybe it's because I don't have kids but I most certainly sympathized more with the kids and Miles. But even with very much disliking one of the main characters, I still really enjoyed the book.

I'd never read this author before; the book was recommended by a friend who enjoys romance novels and mysteries. True Crime fans will not scoff at the plot. Fast, easy reading. But most of all, a great illustration of true SP :)
