Excellent read. Full of intelligent and witty writing. A fascinating and imaginative story about a great historical tragedy. Interestingly, this is a great example of when breaking the rule works. Protagonist's choices typically affect the course of a book. The protagonist has some struggle or conflict. Against the backdrop of the great destruction of WWII you have Billy Pilgrim who is by far the most passive appathetic protagonist in any book I have read. But you hardly notice this glaring omission from the typical structure of a novel because the narrator's voice is so strong.
